As I said earlier, I believe this eclipse is a foreshadowing (excuse the pun) of some future turmoil or 'change.' Here's the sky data from Starry Night. This is the sky over Shanghai, at about peak (10:40am):
A woman on another site pointed out that this eclipse corridor is known as the 10-40, or the area with the most non-Christians in the world.
Let's zoom in a bit:
To break it down; We have Leo rising in the east with the planet Mercury (known as the messenger) directly in front in the constellation Cancer-a symbol of shelter for God's people. In Latin, Cancer means to hold or encircle. On the lion, which can symbolize the Lion of the tribe of Juda, we see Saturn on the right leg. Saturn, in Hebrew, points to the Sabbath-Saturday. I also found this on the net-
'ancient esoteric traditions correlate Saturn with the Hebrew letter, Tav, meaning signature or mark, symbolized by an equal-armed cross, which indicates salvation.'
The Bull, as I have mentioned before, can be a symbol of the priesthood but also can portray 'the coming Judge of the earth.' As far as right versus left: Right can symbolize justice while left can indicate mercy.
Venus, the mother planet, rests at the base of the right horn of the bull.
By the left eye of the Bull is Mars, the planet that traditionally symbolizes war.
Sorry the graphic it is on a bit of a slant but I wanted to get the major players in the illustration.
You can see the horizon just under the Lion's right foot.
Here's an great note I received from Tony (a reader of this website):
Interesting that today 7/22/09 we had the total eclipse in Asia. I looked at the Drudge quake report and saw that we had a small quake in Joshua Tree in Calif. I Googled Joshua Tree to see its origin. On Wikipedia, (not much stock into it but...) the picture that is posted on the top page is of Joshua praying to God to stop the Sun. The tree gets its name because Mormons settlers thought that the tree looked like it was raising its branches to heaven to pray.
** Interesting info, particularly since the Mormons have been so relentlessly targeted by the radical homosexuals lately. I have no doubt the Mormons have been praying! Also, if you look to the possible meaning of the eclipse via all the sky info, they, and we, just may be getting some help from the Just Judge soon.
Finally, this entire event reminded me of the event in Mexico City exactly 3 months ago, to the day (the Mexican flu pretty much followed right after that sky event).
Here's a recap on that:
On April 22nd we had a meteor shower early in the morning. Venus also put on quite a show beginning at approximately 3:00 am. The mother planet, which is another name for Venus, appeared under the crescent moon and then disappeared behind it and the darkened area of the moon. According to my astronomy software, this was right at the moment the moon rose over the Mexico City horizon. Generally, I thought the events were quite striking, especially during a meteor shower. It was cloudy here in Upstate New York, so I didn't give it much additional thought until I was staring at the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe Sunday morning. The day before, I put a photo of the conjunction on my site. Sunday morning I found myself marvelling at the similarities in the each of the moon's phases. To set this up, may I say that I don't really pay much attention to sports anymore. However, I do remember that a person's position on the field is usually decided by the placement of their feet. With that in mind take a look at the event which took place on the 22nd. Then look where Our Lady's feet are in the Miraculous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Her feet are on the angels shoulders. She isn't standing on the moon, as many have described. In those days, Kings and Queens would very often be carried on the shoulders of the people. This indicated the respect due those of Royalty. So for all practical purposes, she is standing on the spot where Venus, the mother planet was, during the sign in the sky on April 22nd. Interestingly, on my astronomy software, part of the image of the constellation Pisces seems to form a ghostly image of the Virgin over the planet's conjunction with the moon. Finally, look again, as I did Sunday night. She is standing behind the moon. The crescent is in front of her ankles! This is quite an appropriate fact, considering that later in the conjunction the mother planet ended up behind the moon.
Well, that's it. We shall see what the Father has in store. All in His good time...

Eclipse 7-22-2009 The left picture is the same as the right. I darkened it and added some gamma, etc. on the pic to the right-I thought I saw something.... Do you?
